Workplace of the Future: Leveraging Job Crafting and GPT to Foster Sustainable Organizations in the Digital Age

Although general-purpose technologies (GPT) offer employees new opportunities for job crafting, their improper implementation can simultaneously lead to increased stress, workload, and a sense of loss of control. Therefore, their effectiveness largely depends on how organizations approach digital transformation. For work to remain stimulating and sustainable, technologies must be implemented to support autonomy and manage work demands, rather than exacerbating them.

The scientific goal of the project is thus to design a model for applying job crafting using GPTs as a foundation for developing strategies aimed at sustainable economic growth of organizations in the context of digital transformation.

From a scientific perspective, the project will contribute to expanding and updating the SMART Work Design model (Parker & Knight, 2024).

From a practical perspective, the project will offer concrete strategic models and implementation frameworks intended for businesses, organizations, and HR professionals.

The project “Workplace of the Future: Leveraging Job Crafting and GPT to Foster Sustainable Organizations in the Digital Age” (VEGA No. 1/0316/26) has been supported by the Scientific Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Academy of Sciences (VEGA).
