In brief. A systematic review (PRISMA, 46 studies from Web of Science, 2015–2023) mapped research on the digital communication of corporate social responsibility. It identified two streams: strengthening the brand–consumer relationship and engaging stakeholders. It revealed a discrepancy between the positive effect of digital CSR on electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) and low audience engagement.
Implications.
- Companies should design CSR communication to engage stakeholders, not merely to inform them.
