In brief. The study examined how the way employees reshape their jobs (job crafting) relates to how they perceive the benefits of artificial intelligence. Data come from 500 respondents in Slovakia (online panel, November–December 2025), analysed with linear regression. Perceived benefits of AI were predicted not only by proactive strategies (seeking challenges and resources) but also by a defensive strategy – reducing hindering job demands.

Implications.

  • Employees may see AI not only as a tool for growth but also as relief from strain.
  • When introducing AI, it pays to consider motives that classic technology acceptance models (TAM, UTAUT) do not capture.
